This problem can be caused by the default allocation of threads being too high. Try reducing the threads preference by selecting File->Preferences, then in the Properties Panel set the Application->Threads preference to 1.

Note while Caedium is frozen it is still working in the background, so once the operation completes (which can take a while) Caedium will become responsive again.
