Fluid Dynamics News: Hydraulic Capsule Pipelines and Fish Farming Sea Cages
Submitted by Richard Smith on October 27, 2016 - 15:19
Time for some fluid dynamics news with a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) slant. Check out how CFD was used to make hydraulic capsule pipeline predictions and simulate the flow through fish farming sea cages.
Hydraulic Capsule Pipeline Predictions
Dr Taimoor Asim, a Research Fellow at the University of Huddersfield, has developed a CFD method for the optimal design of hydraulic capsule pipelines. Capsules can have a variety of shapes and payloads. Read more >>
Flow Through Fish Farming Sea Cages
Researchers in the Faroe Islands have studied the reliability of CFD to predict the flow through fish farming sea cages. They found relatively large discrepancies with their current CFD approach compared to measured data and offer a discussion as to what might be causing the differences. Read more >>
